What it is

Speech Essentials Pro is the narrower of the two Speech Essentials formulas. It keeps folate in its folinic acid form (calcium folinate), raises the amount to 12,000 mcg of folinic acid (20,400 mcg DFE) per capsule, 20% more than Speech Essentials Improved, and pairs it with 200 mcg of vitamin B12 as adenosylcobalamin and 2.5 mg of vitamin B6 as pyridoxal 5-phosphate. There is no riboflavin and no second form of B12, so a practitioner who wants to read the folate-and-B12 response has fewer moving parts. Folinic acid is already a reduced folate; it does not depend on the conversion step that folic acid requires.

Who it's for

For a child or adult whose practitioner has set a daily folinic acid amount and wants it in as few capsules as possible, or who already takes riboflavin or methylcobalamin separately and does not need them repeated here. Format and how to take

Vegetable capsules, 60 per bottle; one capsule is one serving. Label directions: take 1 capsule daily or as recommended by your health care professional. Store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed. The label gives no separate children's dose, so ask your practitioner about use for children.
