What it is

Speech Essentials Improved is a four-nutrient formula built around folate in its folinic acid form. Folinic acid (calcium folinate) is already a reduced folate, so it skips the first conversion step that folic acid requires. The label pairs it with vitamin B12 as adenosylcobalamin and hydroxocobalamin, and adds riboflavin 5-phosphate and pyridoxal 5-phosphate, two active-form cofactors the folate cycle uses. Each capsule carries 17,000 mcg DFE of folate (10,000 mcg folinic acid) and 200 mcg of B12.

Who it's for

Folate and vitamin B12 work in the same cycle: the body uses them together to build DNA, recycle homocysteine into methionine and support normal neurotransmitter production. This formula is for a child or adult whose practitioner has recommended folinic acid rather than folic acid or methylfolate, at a set daily amount, in one small capsule. Because the folate amount is far above the Daily Value, it belongs in a practitioner-guided plan rather than casual daily use.

Format and how to take

Vegetable capsules, 60 per bottle; one capsule is one serving. Label directions: take 1 capsule daily or as recommended by your health care professional. Store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed. The label gives no separate children's dose, so ask your practitioner about use for children.

Other ingredients: Vegetable capsule (cellulose, purified water); may include microcrystalline cellulose (USP) as a filler if necessary.

Allergens: the label carries no "contains" statement. It is marked GMO free, lactose free, soy free and gluten free.

Precautions
