Vitamins A, D3, E and K1 plus K2 in a small daily softgel to support immune function, bones and teeth, eyes and skin.
What it is
ADEK Mini gathers the four fat-soluble vitamins in one small softgel at moderate amounts: vitamin A as a mix of beta-carotene and retinyl palmitate, vitamin D3 as cholecalciferol (the same form skin makes in sunlight), vitamin E as d-alpha tocopherol together with the d-beta, d-gamma and d-delta tocopherols, and vitamin K as both K1 (phytonadione) and K2 (menaquinone). The vitamins are carried in sunflower and olive oil inside a bovine gelatin softgel, because these nutrients are absorbed along with fat. "Mini" signals the dosing: 1000 IU of vitamin D per softgel, against 5000 IU in ADEK-Formula.
Who it's for
Vitamin A supports the eyes, skin and the linings of the gut and airways, and plays a part in normal immune function. Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb calcium and supports bones, teeth and immune function. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps protect cells, and K1 with K2 helps vitamin D deliver calcium to bone and supports normal blood clotting. The formula suits an adult or child who needs the fat-soluble vitamins together at an everyday level, whose practitioner has not asked for a high-dose product, and who can swallow a small softgel.
Format and how to take
Small softgels, 90 per bottle, one per serving. The label's suggested use: take 1-3 softgels once a day, or as directed by your healthcare professional. The label gives no children's dose and asks you to consult your healthcare professional for any use by minors, so ask your practitioner about use for children.
Ingredients
Per 1 softgel (90 servings per container):
- Vitamin A (as beta-carotene and retinyl palmitate) 200 mcg RAE / 1500 IU (22% DV)
- Vitamin D (as cholecalciferol) 25 mcg / 1000 IU (125% DV)
- Vitamin E (as d-alpha tocopherol plus d-beta, d-gamma and d-delta tocopherols) 134 mg / 200 IU (893% DV)
- Vitamin K (as phytonadione and menaquinone) 60 mcg (50% DV)
Other ingredients: softgel (bovine gelatin, purified water, glycerin, annatto), sunflower oil, olive oil. The label carries no allergen statement. The softgel is bovine gelatin, so it is not vegetarian.
Precautions
From the label: consult your healthcare professional before use if pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or for any use by minors. Do not use if the safety seal is broken or missing. Keep out of reach of children. Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight and keep the bottle tightly closed. Vitamin K plays a role in normal blood clotting, so mention this product to your practitioner if you take blood-thinning medication. Vitamin E is well above the Daily Value here; count it if you take other vitamin E products.
