Energy Support
Mitochondrial cofactors as a drink or a capsule, one magnesium, and additions only for an identified need. Practitioner-dosed for children.

Who it's for
For adults, and practitioner-dosed children, whose clinician wants nutritional support for cellular energy: the nutrients that normal energy metabolism, muscle function and antioxidant defences depend on. Persistent fatigue, muscle weakness or a loss of skills need a medical evaluation first.
About this protocol and the studies behind it
From the studies
In a systematic review and meta-analysis, mitochondrial disease was estimated in about 5% of autistic children across the included studies, with abnormal biochemical markers such as lactate more frequent than that (Rossignol 2012, PMID 21263444); a 2024 meta-analysis found group-level differences in several mitochondrial biomarkers between autistic and non-autistic children, with wide variation (Frye 2024, PMID 38703861). In a three-month double-blind randomized trial, 30 autistic children given L-carnitine improved on some clinical rating scales compared with placebo; the trial was small and has not been repeated at scale (Geier 2011, PMID 21629200). Clinical consensus from the Mitochondrial Medicine Society describes supplement cocktails as common practice with limited trial evidence (Parikh 2015, PMID 25503498).
Adult
In the protocol
-
MITOboost
Mitochondrial cofactors, capsule route
CoQ10 50 mg, acetyl-L-carnitine 200 mg, NAC 100 mg, alpha-lipoic acid 100 mg, creatine 200 mg and 45 mg of magnesium per serving. No protein, vitamins or trace minerals, so B Complex and Trace Minerals can sit beside it when there is a reason.
$48.00 -
Magnesium L-Threonate Powder
The one magnesium
Three magnesium forms and nothing else. Count the magnesium in MITOboost toward the day's total; loose stools mean too much.
$85.98
Optional add-ons
-
Spectrum B Complex + Benfotiamine
B vitamins for an identified need, capsule route only
Benfotiamine with B1, B2, B6 as P5P, methylfolate and methyl-B12. 20 mg of B6 and 140 mg of niacin per capsule: one B6 source per person, and never beside the MITOboost drink.
$52.98 -
Trace Minerals
Trace minerals, ages 14 and over, capsule route only
Zinc 30 mg, selenium 200 mcg and iodine 200 mcg: the protocol's only zinc source if you take it. Not with Gut Restore, Formula C or D-Tox Complex on the same day; never beside the MITOboost drink.
$23.00
Alternatives: instead of, not with
-
MITOboost Protein Powder Strawberry
The drink route
15 g of rice protein, a full vitamin and mineral panel, NAC 600 mg, acetyl-L-carnitine 500 mg and alpha-lipoic acid 200 mg. Use instead of the capsules, not with them. It already carries B vitamins, zinc and 75 mg of magnesium, so no B Complex or Trace Minerals beside it. Prop 65 notice; no statement on milk, soy or tree nuts.
$64.00 -
Magnesium Night
Evening magnesium with botanicals
Tart cherry, California poppy and lavender make it a bedtime blend, not a plain magnesium. Use instead of Magnesium L-Threonate+, not with it; not with other sleep products.
$72.00
Child, practitioner-directed
Practitioner-dosed. Two routes: the drink for a child who does not swallow capsules, the capsules for one who does, never both. Trace Minerals is for ages 14 and over only. Not for infants.
In the protocol
-
MITOboost Protein Powder Strawberry
The drink route
Mix each measured portion into an amount of liquid the child will finish. A supplement to meals, not a meal replacement.
$64.00 -
Magnesium L-Threonate Powder
The one magnesium
Count the magnesium in MITOboost toward the day's total.
$85.98
Optional add-ons
-
Spectrum B Complex + Benfotiamine
B vitamins, capsule route only
Only for an identified need and never beside the drink; 20 mg of B6 per capsule is far above a child's requirement.
$52.98

-
MITOboost
Capsule route, for a child who swallows capsules
The label's four capsules is the adult serving, not a children's dose. Ask the manufacturer or a pharmacist before opening a capsule into food. Use instead of the drink, not with it.
$48.00 -
Magnesium Night
Evening alternative
Only when the calming botanicals suit the child; not with other sleep products. Use instead of Magnesium L-Threonate+, not with it.
$72.00
Untick anything you already have or don't want. Everything here is also sold on its own in the shop.
How to start
- Week 1: the MITOboost route your practitioner chose, with food. Drink route: the day's amount split after meals.
- Week 2: add the one magnesium, building to the agreed amount over the week.
- Later, capsule route only, one at a time and a week apart: B Complex, then Trace Minerals (14 and over), each for an identified need.
- Judge stamina, recovery after activity, sleep, appetite and bowel comfort at 8 to 12 weeks. Stop for loose stools, a rash or anything unexpected.
Read before you buy
- Sudden loss of skills, severe new weakness, breathing difficulty, difficulty waking, a first or prolonged seizure, or vomiting with an inability to keep fluids down: urgent care, not supplements.
- One MITOboost format and one magnesium product per person. The drink already contains B vitamins, zinc and magnesium: no B Complex or Trace Minerals beside it.
- Magnesium: kidney disease, loose stools and medicines that interact with magnesium are reasons to have the plan reviewed.
- Trace Minerals is not for anyone under 14. One zinc source: not with Gut Restore, Formula C or D-Tox Complex on the same day.
- Magnesium Night: not with other sleep products; for a child, its botanicals need a practitioner's review.
- MITOboost Protein Powder: not for infants or the severely immunocompromised; Prop 65 notice; the label makes no statement on milk, soy or tree nuts.
- Designed so no calming, mineral or vitamin ingredient is doubled across products.
Fatigue, weakness or a loss of skills need medical evaluation first; no supplement replaces it. Talk to your child's healthcare provider before use.
Most of this evidence comes from adult trials of single ingredients. No protocol has been tested as a whole.
