Monolaurin with trypsin, nattokinase, serrapeptase, lumbrokinase and ginger in one vegetarian capsule: an enzyme, fatty acid and herbal formula for practitioner-guided gut programs.

What it is Spectrum Biofilm is an enzyme, fatty acid and herbal formula in a single vegetarian capsule. Each capsule carries 200 mg of monolaurin, a fatty-acid compound made from coconut, four enzymes that act on protein and fibrin (trypsin 100 mg, nattokinase 75 mg, serrapeptase 50 mg and lumbrokinase 10 mg) and 30 mg of ginger rhizome extract standardized to 20% gingerols. The label's own description is "Enzyme, Fatty Acid & Herbal Dietary Supplement". It sits beside Bio Defence in the range: that formula uses enzymes that break down carbohydrates and chitin, this one uses enzymes that break down protein and fibrin.

Who it's for Practitioners use protein- and fibrin-digesting enzymes with monolaurin in gut programs that also include probiotics and prebiotics, with the aim of supporting a balanced intestinal environment and normal digestion. It suits an adult who can swallow a capsule and is following such a program under guidance. The label asks you to consult your healthcare professional for any use by minors, so ask your practitioner about use for children.

Format and how to take 60 vegetarian capsules, one capsule per serving. Label directions: take 1 capsule 1 to 2 times a day, or as directed by your healthcare professional. The label does not say whether to take it with or between meals; follow your practitioner's instruction.

Ingredients Per 1 vegetarian capsule (60 servings per container), from the label: - Monolaurin (from coconut endosperm, Cocos nucifera) 200 mg - Trypsin 100 mg - Nattokinase 75 mg - Serratiopeptidase (serrapeptase) 50 mg - Ginger extract (Zingiber officinale, rhizome; standardized to 20% gingerols) 30 mg - Lumbrokinase 10 mg

Daily Value not established for any of these. Other ingredients: vegetarian capsule (hypromellose), cellulose, calcium silicate. The monolaurin is coconut-derived; the label does not state the source of the trypsin.

Precautions From the label: consult your healthcare professional before use if pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or for any use by minors; do not use if the safety seal is broken or missing; keep out of reach of children; store at room temperature away from direct sunlight with the bottle tightly closed. Nattokinase, serrapeptase and lumbrokinase are fibrinolytic enzymes: do not combine them with blood thinners or daily aspirin, and stop them before surgery, unless your practitioner directs otherwise. Enzymes of this kind are usually taken away from food; ask your practitioner, since the label gives no timing.
