Folate as calcium folinate with methylcobalamin B12, dosed by the drop, to support methylation, red blood cell formation and nerve function.
What it is
Two B vitamins in a dropper bottle: folate as calcium folinate (folinic acid) and vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin. Each drop carries 680 mcg DFE of folate and 40 mcg of B12, so the amount can be adjusted one drop at a time. Calcium folinate is a bioactive folate form, and methylcobalamin is the form of B12 the methylation cycle uses directly. The base is vegetable glycerine and deionized water, nothing else.
Who it's for
For a child or adult who needs folate and B12 in a form that can be measured drop by drop, and who does not take tablets or capsules. Folate and B12 work together in the methylation cycle. They support normal homocysteine metabolism, DNA and RNA synthesis, red blood cell formation, neurotransmitter production and healthy nervous system function. Cells that turn over quickly, such as those lining the gut, rely on folate to renew themselves. The liquid makes it practical to start low and adjust with your practitioner.
Format and how to take
A liquid dosed by the drop, in a vegetable glycerine base. The label's recommended use: take one drop per day, or as directed by your health care practitioner. Pregnant and nursing women should take it as prescribed by their physician. The label gives no separate children's dose; ask your practitioner about use for children. Store at room temperature. One bottle holds about 660 drops.
Ingredients
Per 1 drop, about 660 servings per container:
- Folate (as Calcium Folinate) 680 mcg DFE (170% DV)
- Vitamin B-12 (as Methylcobalamin) 40 mcg (1667% DV)
Other ingredients: vegetable glycerine, deionized water. Allergens: the label states the product does not contain gluten, dairy, soy or GMOs.
Precautions
Pregnant and nursing women should take this product as prescribed by their physician. Keep out of reach of children. One drop already provides 170% of the Daily Value for folate and 1667% for B12, so follow your practitioner's guidance on how many drops to use. Folate and B12 are paired here because they work together in the methylation cycle; the product copy notes that folate taken on its own can obscure low B12, so tell your practitioner about the supplements and medications you take.
