What it is

A liver-and-gallbladder formula taken as three capsules a day. L-methionine, inositol, taurine and ox bile support bile flow and the liver's handling of fats. Milk thistle seed standardized to 80% silymarin and artichoke leaf standardized to 5% cynarin are the two liver botanicals, with beet powder alongside. The vitamins come in active forms: B6 as pyridoxal-5-phosphate, B12 as methylcobalamin, and vitamin A as mixed carotenoids.

The liver plays a role in the body's natural detoxification pathways, in protein and fat metabolism, in blood sugar regulation and in digestion, and this formula is built to support that work. It suits someone comfortable swallowing three capsules a day with meals.

Format and how to take

Cellulose capsules. The label's recommended use: take three capsules per day with meals, or as directed by your health care practitioner. The label gives no children's dose; ask your practitioner about use for children. Store at room temperature.

Ingredients

Per 3 capsules, 30 servings per container:

• Vitamin A (as mixed carotenoids) 1500 mcg RAE (167% DV)
• Vitamin B-6 (as pyridoxal-5-phosphate) 5 mg (294% DV)
• Vitamin B-12 (as methylcobalamin) 15 mcg (625% DV)
• L-Methionine 150 mg
• Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) (seed) [standardized to 80% silymarin] 150 mg
• Taurine 100 mg
• Inositol 100 mg
• Ox Bile 75 mg
• Artichoke (Cynara scolymus) (leaf) [standardized to 5% cynarin] 75 mg
• Beet Powder (Beta vulgaris L.) (tuber) 50 mg

Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, cellulose (capsule), sunflower lecithin, vegetable stearate. Allergens: the label states the product does not contain gluten, dairy, soy or GMOs. Ox bile is bovine in origin, so the product is not vegetarian.

Precautions

Keep out of reach of children. The product copy advises against use if you have severe pain in the upper abdomen or an obstruction of the bile ducts; if either applies, do not take it and speak with your practitioner. Because the formula supports bile flow and provides vitamin A at 167% of the Daily Value, check with your practitioner before use if you are pregnant, nursing or taking medications.
