Ten amino acids and sulfur compounds with no herbs, minerals, or B vitamins. Supports the liver's phase II conjugation pathways.
What it is
Detox-Amino is a capsule formula of amino acids and sulfur-bearing compounds that feed the liver's conjugation (phase II) pathways: glycine, L-glutamine, taurine, L-methionine, N-acetyl-L-cysteine, MSM, L-glutathione, L-ornithine, alpha-ketoglutarate, and calcium-D-glucarate. By design it contains no herbs, minerals, or B vitamins. The label explains why: those ingredients can stimulate phase I enzymes, and this formula is meant to support conjugation without doing so.
Who it's for
The formula supports healthy liver function and the body's natural detoxification pathways, with glutathione and NAC adding antioxidant support. Sulfur is the raw material for sulfation, one of the liver's routes for processing what it clears, so the write-up positions this for someone whose practitioner wants that pathway well supplied. Calcium-D-glucarate supports the gut side of the same process. A serving is six capsules, so it suits an adult or older child who swallows capsules easily.
